Dante's Dillema..

Dante was (reputedly) the last man to have read everything written. Even back then some of it probably wasn't worth the effort. What would he have done with today's geometrically growing pile of *!@ ?

  • Macro-Strategy

      • The Human capacity to know.
      • Human knowing- Human capacity
      • Infinite desire, finite time- Prudence

  • Micro-Tactics

      • Human techniques for "knowing".
      • Concept, language, spoken and visual words.
      • Finding, filtering, and re-conceiving concepts.

G.K. Chesterton once wrote that the world had discovered how to say everything, everywhere, at the very moment it ceased to have anything worth hearing.  The overstated irony of this was not lost on that jolly and charitable fellow( who made his living via the beginnings of modern mass journal-ism).  Most assuredly there was much worth reading and still is.  But though new techniques have been found to publish human thought, the less technological techniques of filtering and re-conception have been mostly neglected.
